Documented problems

Shifter/Electrical 2017-2019

'Shift to Park' fault: a micro switch inside the shifter assembly is over-travelled and the button is forced into the switch body, so the vehicle does not register that it is in Park. The car refuses to shut off or lock, warns 'Shift to Park' while already in Park, and drains the battery. Contaminated or corroded transmission range sensors and shifter harness connectors produce the same symptom. GM's remedy replaces the shifter assembly and jumper harness.

Engine 2017-2019

2.5L LCV four-cylinder oil consumption and low-power complaints; the engine was dropped after 2019 in favor of the 2.0L turbo.

Powertrain boundary at 2020

Major mid-generation powertrain change at MY2020: the 2.5L I4 was replaced by the 2.0L LSY turbo and the 6-speed automatic by the 9-speed 9T65, so 2017-2019 and 2020-2023 are distinct failure populations.
