Slip-stick shudder from the torque converter clutch, felt as a vibration under light throttle at highway speed. GM determined the original factory-fill ATF was hygroscopic — it absorbed moisture from the air, changing the fluid's friction properties and glazing the TCC friction material. TSB 18-NA-355 prescribes a complete fluid exchange to the reformulated Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP (blue label) rather than converter replacement; if left unserviced the friction material burnishes and the torque converter must be replaced.
